45 year culinary union leader

Assemblymember Linda Hunt proudly represents Nevada’s 17th Assembly District, which includes Nellis Air Force Base and parts of North Las Vegas. A lifelong advocate for working people, she brings decades of experience as a shop steward and food server at the El Cortez Hotel and Casino and leader within the Culinary Workers Union Local 226.

Born in Jackson, Mississippi, and raised in Las Vegas, Linda learned the importance of fairness, hard work, and community from her union-strong parents. Encouraged by her peers to run for office, she stepped forward as a voice for everyday Nevadans, not a politician.

Since being elected in 2024, Linda has served on the Education, Government Affairs, and Health and Human Services committees. Her legislative work is grounded in listening to neighbors, workers, and small business owners and turning their stories into action. From championing public safety by cracking down on illegal street racing to helping people experiencing homelessness access critical services, she’s focused on solutions that make life better for all Nevadans.
